Explore documented white-collar enforcement activity across the United States.
ThinkEthics.ai transforms thousands of public enforcement records into an interactive view of where federal enforcement activity has been announced, what types of misconduct are involved, and how those patterns have changed over time.

This map shows documented enforcement activity, not how common crime is or how corrupt a place is. Enforcement counts can be affected by prosecutorial priorities, office resources, population, public spending, publication practices, and data availability. Charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Settlements are not findings of liability. Healthcare-related enforcement is hidden by default.
Compliance Risk Intelligence draws on two fundamentally separate datasets: Federal Enforcement and State & Local Activity, Pilot. These layers must never be added together into a combined total. They come from different sources, cover different jurisdictions, and follow different publication practices.
The federal layer consists of U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Attorney press releases documenting white-collar enforcement announcements. Each record represents one documented enforcement event as announced by the issuing office, not a measure of how common crime is or how corrupt a place is.
The state and local layer is a pilot dataset collected from selected state and local enforcement authorities. Coverage varies substantially by jurisdiction and by what each office publishes online. A lower count may reflect less available source coverage, not less enforcement activity or wrongdoing. Counts are not comparable across states.
Some crime type and scheme type classifications were created using automated rules and may contain classification errors. The taxonomy is not infallible and not every record was individually adjudicated by ThinkEthics.ai. Classifications will continue to be refined upstream in the data process.
2026 enforcement data is partial and incomplete. Do not compare an incomplete 2026 calendar year against complete prior years without accounting for this status.
2026 per-capita calculations use the carried-forward July 1, 2025 population estimate. This is not a final 2026 Census population estimate.
Legal status reflects the status contained in the source announcement at the time of publication. The database does not necessarily reflect every later procedural development.
Dollar amounts are shown as "known dollar amounts referenced" in the source announcement. A blank dollar amount does not equal zero. Mixed dollar amount types (settlement, restitution, government loss, and others) are not economically equivalent and should not be treated as a single aggregate loss figure.
Records from ethics commissions are civil administrative actions, not criminal cases. They are displayed with a distinct visual label and should not be interpreted as criminal convictions or findings of guilt.
Enforcement data can show where compliance problems have occurred. ThinkEthics.ai helps organizations prepare employees before those problems occur.
